Some of you are here as a result of reading one of my books, 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter or 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Son and others may be here as a result of going through a 5 Conversations Bible study in your church or a neighborhood small group. Regardless of how you got here, I’m honored you stopped by the 5 Conversations Blog! This blog is pretty easy to navigate. Depending on which book or study you are doing, click on either the “Moms of Daughters” or “Moms of Sons” image above to find the bonus material I mention in the books. And don’t be shy! I would love to hear your suggestions while you’re here, so feel free to comment on any of the “conversations” and share your wisdom.
When 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter released in early fall of 2008, I had just moved my only daughter off to college. Weird timing, huh? Especially given the fact that the tagline on the back cover of the book says: “From the cradle to college…Telling your daughter the truth about life before she believes the culture’s lies.” And as if the timing couldn’t get any more ironic, the release of 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Son in summer of 2011, came within days of my oldest son’s wedding and my youngest son’s graduation from high school. Stop the clock! I know you hear it all the time, but time flies. Take it from a mom who has officially launched all three kids from the cradle … to college. A mom who sometimes wishes her house wasn’t quite so quiet and clean. So, bravo to you for making the most of the years while your little ones (and bigger ones!) are still in the nest. Your investment will not return void. Before you know it, you will be the one packing up the car to move your child into their dorm or sitting on a front pew, dabbing your eyes as they exchange their vows.
Well, enough about me and my kiddos — I would love to know a little bit about you and the son or daughter that inspired you to pick up the 5 Conversations book or study. Please comment below with your name and your sons’ or daughters’ first names, ages, and your home state and I would consider it a privilege to pray for you.
In the meantime, enjoy this video montage I recently put together as a gift to my now grown children. One of my greatest joys in life has been raising my three kids from the cradle … to college.
Blessings,
Vicki Courtney

Hello Courtney it was a pleasure reading 5 conversations you must have with your son. I have 1 child his name is Tucker he is 13 years old. We live in Ellaville, Georgia. I have completed the book now i am struggling as to how i am going to discuss some of the topics with my son. It seems easy until you actually get ready to discuss. Please pray with me that the conversations will come natural; that God will put the words in my mouth as to what i should say. Thanks again for your advice. May God Bless you and your family.
Vickie,
this is my first blog post ever (by the way)
My daughter Margaret (9) and I were at the “You and Your Girl” conference in Spartanburg, SC a few weekends ago. It was our first time to do a conference like that together. We were so blessed! She was enthralled with Lindsay Kane and Bethany Dillion who were both so kind to her, even on Margaret’s third and forth visits to talk to them and have pictures taken with them. She loved her small group time where the 4th graders learned about respecting their parents (thank you!) and about dressing in a way that honors the Lord. We drove home (5 hours) that night and Sunday morning she came into my bedroom dressed for church. She said “Mom” and then held up her arms high in the air, “I have outgrown this outfit. When I raise my hands my tummy shows and that does not honor the Lord.”… another outfit retired to the “hand-me-down” pile!
I walked away with so many life changing nuggets, but one of the greatest things that happened was that the Lord used you and your teachings to change me 180 degrees on something. Your teaching from Nehemiah 4 about building the wall around our child’s heart and our calling as moms and parents not just to build the wall but to survey the wall for gaps and repair the wall when the enemy, the culture, comes and knocks holes in the wall- this was so powerful and an amazing visual that I have shared with so many people. It is not that my husband and I have not been building the wall, but we have not been as intentional as we are called to be, and we have not been great at taking the time to survey the wall for damage from the culture and with God’s help, repair the wall. Our “going to bed process” has totally changed since your conference. I am embarrassed to admit (but just keeping it real) that we would rush through the process of putting our 11 year old son and our 9 year old daughter to bed. I actually was relieved (again, not pretty, but keeping it real) when they did not ask me to say prayers with them. My attitude had become, “let me see how fast I can do this and get back downstairs, get on the sofa and have my glass of wine.” When you said that it took the remnant 52 days to build the wall around the temple and that we have 0-18 years, that rocked my world! Half my time is up! Going to bed in our home will never look the same again! It is amazing how the Lord changed my heart, and as my husband and I have invited Him into this time of putting our kids to bed (that we now see as a time of ministry), how the Lord has shown up and shown us the gaps in the walls of their heart. We have sat, we have listened, we have prayed, we have laughed, we have cried, we have sung, we have danced and it has been an incredible time of the “ministry of presence”. Thank you, thank you , thank you for your ministry and the passion the Lord has given you! Thank you for your encouragement to FIGHT for our children! I thank God for you and pray that He continues to anoint your ministry and pour out His abundant blessings on you and your family. We can’t wait for you to come near us again and I can’t wait to get a copy “5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter”!
God Bless,
Laura

I do have very good girls, but it’s hard, especcialy for the 7 year old, when her friends act and dress different than her, she really struggles with it to sometimes. Please pray for us that God would help ease their growing pains and help me and my husband to raise them the way He would have us to!
Thank you again!

This is an amazing opportunity to know that we are not the only ones seeking to raise our daughters to love and honor God! I have 1 daughter, Savannah (8) and we see every day the worldview society wants to feed her challenging the Godview we are attempting to plant in her life.

My daughter Taylor (8) and I were at the “Your Girl” Conference in Spartanburg a few weeks ago as well. Wow, what a lifechanger!
Since Taylor is the oldest of 2 girls (Chloe is 5), I haven’t had to deal with any of these major issues as of yet. But boy will I be ready!
Please pray that my girls will be able to see my passion for Jesus DAILY and would continually love him with all their hearts, minds, and souls.
Thanks so much!!

So excited about this new site… and eager for the book.
Thank you for your commitment to pray for us. My older daughter and I were a part of the You and your Girl conference in Fredericksburg, VA in April and loved it. She came away with so much information, and a desire to talk about it- what blessing.
I am Kelly and have two daughters, Cailin (11) and Cassidy (9). We are in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Vicki, I have left one or two comments on your other blog before, but am excited to get in on the beginning of this discussion. My name is Andrea and I am the mom of four children, two of whom are girls (Darcy, age 10 and Peyton, age 8). We live in Arlington, TX. The guidance counselor at my daughters’ school has started meeting with the 5th graders for lunch once a month to talk about many of the things you talk about in your books. Yesterday was the appointed time, and Darcy said she told the guidance counselor all about the tween bookmags that you’ve written, and the counselor asked her if she would share them at their next meeting! Communication between my kids and me is very open and I’m thankful for that, but I’m also thrilled that your newest book is coming out at this very moment so that we can read it together and break through so many of the myths that exist in tween culture today. I’m also prayerfully considering teaching a class at church using your book in the very near future! Thank you for your prayers and may God bless you in all of your endeavors!
Hi Vicki! We have met everal times at your events in Austin. I am in Lake Travis and have one daughter, Kaitlyn, who is 16 1/2. I look forward to getting some more valuable information from you!
Hi Vicki, I am Lacy from Grenada, MS. I have 4 children. My 3 girls are Meredith(14), Mary Fran(12), and Jessi (9). We went to a “You and Your Girl” conference near Jackson, MS last year. Please come back near us again!!! I was disappointed that the one near Memphis was cancelled. I love your Virtue Alerts!
Thank you so much for allowing God to use you in so many ways! Thank you for offering to pray for our family. I often lift up your ministry to our Lord. I am excited about your new book and this new blog. Blessings!
Hi, I’m Tonya and I have 2 grown children and a 13 year old daughter: Samantha. “Sam” and I were at the “You and Your Girl” conference in Jackson, MS a year or so ago and I’ve been following your blog since then and have also read your books. I know I could have done a lot better with my older children in many areas and with only one left at home I really devote much of my time to her. She is an awesome young lady who loves the Lord, very outgoing, embraces modesty (thanks to influences such as your conferences, the Barlow Girls, and many others) and I am so thankful for her. I do feel like I have a very short time to keep her attention, to continue to equip her with everything she needs to know to stand strong in her faith in the world. Thank you for all you do!
I am a mom of 4 wonderful children. 2 Boys and 2 girls (ages 10 and 9). We live in Utah and really appreciate your blog and books.
Vicki,
My daughter Amanda (15) and I attended one of the Yada Yada events a couple of years ago in Buffalo NY. We now live in Ohio. Both of us talk often about what a great weekend that was for us as she was launching into her teen years. We are looking forward to going through the new book. Thanks for allowing God to use you to bless all of us.

Hi! I am Kimi G, mom of three. Two girls and a boy. The oldest, Karlee Belle, is 9 and we have been reading your ‘Between’ magazine at bedtime and love it. We are so excited to go to Broken Arrow, OK for the ‘You and Your Girl’ conference next year (it will be our first) and we really wish the date was closer! I was first worried that she was too young becuase I am a little naieve(which is why I am glad you keep us informed) and it seems I shelter her as much as I can…. I can’t wait for this book AND Bible study, because I know it will open up some awesome conversations! I loved reading everyone’s comment and am so thankful for you and your teaching and your alerts and your attempt to bring us all together on this blog. I was especially moved by laura’s comment….(oct 9)…I somehow can really connect with some of the situations she described.
Thanks again…. I am so looking forward to some good fellowship you and with all the moms!

Hi Vicki,
I have been waiting for this book…for 13 years to be exact! Thank you for writing it. I am the mother of three children (one daughter and two sons) and we live in Richmond, Virginia. My daughter, Anna-Louise, is 12 1/2 years old and my husband and I also have full custody of my niece, Jackie, who is almost 16 (yikes). She came to live with us a year ago with an hour’s notice and the clothes on her back. It has been a tough year as we learn how to lovingly raise a teenager years before we were expecting to. I plan to be a part of the five week book club and possibly leading (uh..facilitating) a group through the bible study group as well. I’m a newbie to your website and am already finding it to be a very soft place to land. Thank you.
Sweet blessings,
Kelly
we have attended a “you and your girl conference” and i am earnestly training my daughters in TRUTH and even hosting a bi-weekly Bible study in my home for her and some friends from her inner city public school. there are a lot of lies out there and i am trying to teach them God’s truth and it’s simplicity and beauty and timelessness! thank you for giving me mortar and bricks to help build the wall!

I first heard you speak when I was a student at Texas A&M University when you spoke at Breakaway. Some of the things you said that night about the way you raised your kids resonated with me even as a 20 year old young woman.
I just ordered a couple of your books the other day, and I am so excited now that I am a mom, God has allowed me learn even more from you!
Hi Vicki!
This book and your blog couldn’t have come at a better time. Just last night, after our c-group meeting (that’s our jr. high group)my precious daughter told me -as she was looking in the mirror, “I don’t like who I am”, I ran to my closet, crying. I was pleading with God to help her love who she is in Him. Oh, I know prayer will be my weapon, but I’m also looking forward to your book and the Bible study. May all mothers of teenage girsl unite and pray for our precious girls! Thanks again,
Kim, 47

My name is Kathy from Charleston, SC. My daughter, Darby (12), and I went to the “You and Your Girl” conference in Spartanbug this year. We enjoyed it so much. It really gave us a chance to spend some mother/daughter time. I really believe Darby was impacted by the sessions for her age group. God is really working in her heart. For me, many things that God had been speaking to me about over the past few weeks were confirmed at the conference. Thanks and God bless.
I have read Virtue Alert for a long time, and I am so excited about this new book and blog. I am the oldest of three girls. I have two daughters, Isabelle (just turned 10) and Addison (6 months). I also have a son who is 5. I love being a mom, but it is getting harder and harder as my oldest gets close to adolescence. I need all the help I can get!

Hi Vickie. I am so looking forward to reading the new book! I have been reading the Between book in conjunction with a bible study with my 2 daughters and it has really helped us with issues the girls are facing. My name is Michelle and I have 2 daughters Kelsey(9) and Maddie(6). Thank you for your prayers.
I am so excited to get your book and be able to discuss it with my daughter. Before bed we have read your magazine “Between” and it has been a wonderful time for her to open up about things she deals with. Recently, she struggled with an issue at school and without hesitaion she just began to talk about it openly with me as soon as we sat down in bed. At times, I want to rush bedtime and just go sit down but I have realized that we have created a time that she always knows that she can talk to me about heart issues. It is very hard to do that during the day when everyone else is around and things are so busy. Thank you for the ministry that you do.
I have one daughter, Ashley (10) and we live in North Carolina.
Hi!

My name is Donna. My daughter, Virginia, age 13, told me about your book and asked me to join a group of readers and bloggers from our church in League City, TX. I felt so blessed that she would ask me to do this. Thank you for your encouragement and prayers.
Hi Vicki, I just bought your book for myself and 3 friends. We are about to do a book study on it. Between us we have 8 daughters with ages ranging from 10 weeks old to 5 years old. We are moms that love God and are truly alarmed at what the world would have us and our daughters believe. I know that your Bible Study materials will be coming out in the spring, but any tips you could provide for guiding our discussions over these next few months would be SO appreciated! Thanks for tackling these issues!
Hi Vicki! This is really exciting. I just stumbled upon your site! I am the mom to all girls.. Ella Grace ( almost 4) Miriam ( 2) and Susanna ( 8 months) I look forward to this book.. I know that before I blink, all of my girls will be where yours is now. It really does go sooo fast.

I must tell you that Y&YG in Orlando brought such peace to me. God gave me a clear message of encouragement. And just last night I finally looked for and found the "Elijah" video on YouTube – I thought my 8yo son would get a kick (and a lesson) out of it and the others.
Thanks for all you do!
Beautiful video. Thanks so much for your ministry.

I have been praying that God would lead me to a book that my daughter and I could do together. The Lord lead me to this and I am looking forward to studying this with my daughter. God bless you!
Hi, I’m Sandi. I’m the mom of two amazing girls (and two equally amazing boys) Demi (13) and Lyric (10). I’m eager to be part of this blog community because I, too, am concerned about the messages our daughters are being bombarded with on a daily basis. Even though my kids attend a Christian school AND we don’t have cable t.v., they still face many of the challenges others face in mainstream education. I pray daily for their hearts and minds to be protected from the schemes of the evil one.
Thanks a TON for your ministry, Vicki. It has alerted me, more than once, to issues I need to talk to my girls about.
Blessings,
Sandi
Hi~ I’m Jennifer, and my daughter is Abigail (10, in 5th grade). We live in Nashville, TN, and are looking forward to these conversations and this blog.

My name is Kay Lynn and my family lives in Arkansas. I am the mother of two daughters 20 and 17 and the mom of a wonderful little boy, age 6. Looking forward to being a regular on your blog.
My name is Bonnie. My beautiful adopted daughter Delaney is 15. She is a precious gift that is rocking our world. Can’t wait for your study. By the way, I am looking for a video of you telling the story of “the gift”, about saving yourself for your groom. I can’t find it. Also, did you tell a story about a dad giving his daughter a special key, symbolizing “key to your heart”? I can’t locate that either. Hope you can help.
My name is Angel(36), my daughter is Brittney(15), and we live in TN. Years ago we attended one of your mother/daughter events and since then I have purchased several of your books. All of these resources have been so valuable and helped my daughter and I to have a healthier and closer relationship. Thanks so much for using the gifts God has given to you to bless others!
My name is Jennifer, from Texas, and I’m the mother of two girls…well, almost two girls. Audrey is 2 1/2 and her baby sister will be here at the end of January!
Hi Vicki! I’m Chasidy and my girls are Shelby 11, and Grace 4. My 9 year-old mamma’s boy, Austin is stuck between them. I finished reading the book, literally, ten minutes ago. Wow. I couldn’t wait to get on here and tell you that you’ve cleared up one of the biggest mysterys of my life! The section about Oxytocin:the Bonding Effect was devine revelation for me. My mom was only sixteen when I was born (as was my dad) and her lack of godly virtue at that age was probably due to her own mother having mental disability. So, my mom’s attitude about teens and sex was always like “they are going to do it no matter what I say, so when they do, we’ll go get birth control”. Please don’t get me wrong, she’s a good mother. We were in church, involved in girls camp and youth activities etc. Well, my husband (then boyfriend)and I became sexually active at sixteen. In the weeks and months that followed I became withdrawn and weepy. My parents assumed that the boyfriend wasn’t treating me right and basically threw him out of my life. They meant well, of course, and couldn’t understand why their little bubbly cheerleading captain was suddenly depressed. As I said, your book was a revelation in my life! Now I get it. Now I know why I was practically inconsolable when he would break dates, even for good reasons. I wanted to be with him every second! Now I understand that a natural bonding had occured at a very unnatural time! What’s more, now I can explain what happened to me to my daughters as someone who’s been there and suffered the horrible consequences. My husband and I got back together as soon as I wasn’t under their authority anymore and married at 21 with Shelby on the way. Clearly, I’m going to need a game plan for educating my girls. Thank you so much for helping me with it.
Hi Vicki,
I’m Barbie and I have a beautiful 12 year old daughter. We are a military family currently living in Oklahoma. I have read Raising a Godly Girl… and I can not wait to read 5 Conversations. We are blessed that our daughter is able to attend a Christian school, but the problems that you are discussing in your book are there, too. I pray that not only will this book allow me to talk to my own daughter, but to others as well.
Thank you for being God’s vessel and writing such wonderful books and Bible studies for us all.
Hi, My name is Suzanne and I have 2 daughters, Taylor~14 and Jordan~11. I am ordering your book and joining this bible study book club. Thank you so much! Blessings, Suzanne

Thanks for being such a wonderful and Godly resource in a world where raising healthy and Godly kids seems insurmountable.

Greetings from Canada!
I’m Chantal (42), my daughter Gabrielle is 12. I can’t really see what I’m typing through the tears after watching the video of your daughter! This parenting journey is difficult, and I so want to be the mother she needs to grow strong and beautiful in His grace.
Thank you, Vickie,
Sincerely,
Chantal
Vicki,
A friend told me about your book. I have one daughter Isabella who is 10. I appreciate your writing a book to help me through this season. Thank you!
Maurin from Fort Collins, Colorado…
Thank you for sharing your heart with us. My daughter Maddie (age 9) and I will grow from your wisdom. I am grateful.

Hi Vicki! My name is Jennifer and I have 2 daughters. Reagan is 5 and Kendall is 3. We live in Texas as well. Thank you so much for writing this book. I can’t wait to dive in. And thanks for your prayers!
I’m Kelli, and I have a 16yo Kati. We live in OR.
She went from homeschooling to High School this year, and her first semester she really bought into all the junk that comes with being more social and accepted. Her grades and attitude tumbled, so we are homeschooling this semester.
If you could be praying that he gets her head back where it should be, and is better prepared to go back to “regular” school next year and stay the course, I would be eternally grateful.
Thank you for this series.
Hi, Vicki,
I just got the 5 Conversations book & have read the 1st couple of chapters. Love it & agree with everything so far. I can tell that you and I think a lot alike! I have 4 kids–a son, Josh, and 3 daughters ages 20, 15 & 13–Katelyn, Hannah Beth & Addie. We live in the Orlando area. My husband & I have been trying to implement many of these principles since our son was in middle school; now he & our oldest daughter are in college. I feel like we are almost done with the 2 oldest, but are still in the trenches with the younger ones. We have had many of these types of conversatons through the years and will continue to as long as it takes. I have loved parenting teenagers–they really do want their parents to guide them, protect them & be involved in their lives. Although it has not always been easy to "not go along with the culture-crowd" it has been well worth it. Can't wait to read the rest of the book & check out the rest of your website!
God Bless!
Megan
I can’t wait to read your book!! My daughter Megan is 14. We are from Huntsville AL.
Hi! My name is Kathy, and I have 3 beautiful girls – Rebecca (8), Rachel (6) and Sarah (2). We live in Queensland, Australia.

Keep up the good work. I benefit from your web pages too.

Hi! I have one daughter right between two boys just like you! DeAnna is 14, and I need all the guidance you can send! I so want with all my heart to raise her to love God with all her heart!
Hi Vicki,
I am almost finished with 5 conversations and haven’t been able to put the book down. Some of my daughters have read bits and pieces over my shoulder as I underline.
I have 5 daughters (do you think I need the book?? ). My step-daughters live with us, and they are 3 weeks shy of 16. They are identical twins, Brynn and Taylor. Then I have a 12 year old named Kaitlin and an 8 year old Linnea from my first marriage. My second husband and I have another daughter, Amanda age 3. We live in NY.
I am so excited to start sharing ideas and conversations with all of them.
Thanks for this website! I have been looking for online ‘girly’ but virtuous things to do with my girls on Wednesday nights when my husband is out with our boys at Scouts.

My name is Jennifer and my daughter is Emelyn. She is 10 years old. This growing up stuff is harder than I could ever have imagined and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate godly advice such as this. Us mom’s need to encourage and help one another…the Lord did not intend for us to do this solo!!!
Thank you so much for sharing your journey, wisdom and guidance.
I thank you God, for sending someone like Vickie to help all of us other mommies. Vickie, I thank you for your support, your wisdom and your committment to helping us raise Godly women in a very ungodly world! My name is Lyn and I have two beautiful daughters, Lauren (14) and Katie (12). We live in Birmingham, AL. I will be praying for you and your ministry.
Vickie, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed your book, the video and this site. Thank you I’m Becky, mom of Kasey – 10 and Megan 9 in NC.
Hi, Vickie. I’m Heather, and I have a beautiful daughter, McKenzie, who will turn 13 in 13 days! She just became a cheerleader and before the squad has even met together once, the catty, mean comments have already started. I’d love some advice on how to handle this and help her to handle it. Thanks!
Vickie,
I just finished your book, 5 Conversations, wow, thank you. This has really sparked conversation between my husband and I. Our girls are Hailey 9 and Hannah 7. The conversations will begin and continue for the rest of their lives. What a true BLESSING to read your TRUTH and know God has given you a gift that will help mothers be confident enough to give their girls real “girl power”
PLEASE COME TO BOISE IDAHO

My name is Kristi, and I have two girls Lauren (9) and Sophie (almost 4), as well as two boys (6 & 1). I just found your book on someone's blog and then looked it up on Amazon, and then found my way here. We live in Virginia.
after a traumatic day with my almost 12 year old daughter, I ran to our Christian bookstore for reinforcements. I picked up “Your Girl” and “5 Conversations”. A week later I was asked to teach a Sunday School class for elementary girls on “inner beauty versus outer beauty”. I love the first 2 chapters of 5 Conv. I will be using that info and your bible references for sure. My daughter Keegan and I could use some prayers! Kelli in Michigan
Just found your blog. My daughter, Kaybree, is 5 months old, and I’m already searching for ways to guide her into becoming the Godly woman she needs to be.

Thank you so much for letting God use you!
I love this book and I’m telling everyone I know with a daughter! My name is Michelle and I have one daughter, Olivia, age 11. We live in Arkansas!
Hey Vicki
BLESS YOU for doing what you do…it's so amazing to plug into your ministry for encouragement, teaching, and inspiration to run after God's truth regardless of what the world throws at us! I am a more aware and more effective Godly mom to my daughters Kate (9) and Megan (7) thanks to what God has spoken through you.
God's strength to you!

Vickie,
Thank you so much for writing this book! I haven't had a chance to finish the book yet, my 20 year old niece grabbed it the week she stayed with us. She loved it and thinks all women/girls should read it.
I have 12 year-old twin daughters, we attended You & Your Girl in Katy and had a great time, the girls want to go again. Hope you will have another one in Texas.

Hello, My name is Kristin and your book is the answer to my prayers. I have four children: Keely (7), Madilyn (3), Layla (2), and Dean (8 months). I have spent so much time thinking and praying about what to say to my daughters and your book lays it out perfectly. Thank you!
Glad to have found your blog! My name is Joy and I graduated Auburn in 2003 and I have a daughter, Mallory, who is about to turn 2. You can never start to early! Your daughter is precious and I know that AU is a great place for her! We are actually going to China for a year with CCC in 6 weeks through Auburn! God bless.
Vickie, I've never commented on a blog, so here goes. I have two daughters, Madison age 12 and Baylee age 5, and we live in WV. I just started reading your book after seeing it while attending a Beth Moore conference in PA. Let me say, the part about leg shaving brought back hilarious memories of myself dry shaving my legs before attending a choir practice with the wonderful single blade razors of the '80s (can we say razor rash?). I'm hoping to be able to facilitate a 5 Conversations study at my church. Thank you so much for being able to put your words on paper and share them.

Hi Vicki ~ My name is Jennifer. I have 2 sons and 1 daughter in the same order as yours! My daughter, Jordan, is 8 years old. We live in Iowa. I am happy to have found this blog to follow! You should think about bringing your ministry closer to this area… Sioux Falls, SD or Minneapolis, MN or Omaha, NE or Des Moines, IA… it would be great to get something like this in our area! May God bless you as He uses you to spread His good word!
Hi,I'm Jennifer and I have two daughters, Sydney (15) and Whitney (12) and we live in Atlanta, GA. Thanks for such a wonderful resource.
My name is Barbi and we have three children, like you, two sons (19 and 15) and one daughter (17). Our daughter's name is Katie. We just began your study and my heart is already breaking. You see, my daughter also has a child who is 5 months old. When the 5 Conversation bible study was announced I said to myself "too late for that one". We were then invited to attend to help "keep it real". So my daughter and I are attending together and this in itself is very hard for me. Our church family has been a huge part in strenghtening us during this time in our lives, but I still have a part of me that is very watchful and protective and fearful that my little girl will get hurt by someone's actions or words whether it be intentional or unintentional. BUT I am also very excited for God's truth to be revealed in our real life situation and I am clinging to the hope that it is not too late.
Thank you for your passion and your ministry.
Barbi & Katie from MO.
Hi! I am excited to find your blog. I am the mother of two beautiful daughters: Anna Grace (10) and Abigail (7). We live in Madison, MS.

Thanks for having this blog. It helps in my Bible Study.

Hi Vicki,
My name is Selena and my daughter is Wren. Wren is 11 – almost 12.
I just finished reading your 5 Conversations book – and overwhelmingly thank you for writing this!! I thank Jesus for leading you to write this book and sharing yourself.
Although, we live in Missouri – I am really hoping to bring Wren to one of your conferences this year!
May God bless you and your family.
Hello Vickie,
My name is Jenifer and I have one lovely daughter Lauren who is now 6. I loved your book about the 5 conversations! You put into words the things that I have been thinking, feeling and trying to tell others for years and you did so quite well! I taught high school for several years before my daughter was born and I had many of the conversations with my female students (but unfortunatly, I couldn't share the much needed underlying message…that it is all in attempt to serve our Lord), but still I did what I could at the time. The thing that most struck a cord the most with me was that while I faced many of the challenges you present in the book in high school and college, I have been out of the loop so long that I didn't realized how much times have changed since then. Thank you again for putting so succently into words (with stastics and contectual facts and scripture) things I have long wish were said to the public!
Vicki,
I have 5 wonderfully unique daughters: Sandy(28), Cassie(24), Callie(24), Victoria(13-today!), and Moriah(11). I have poured over your book taking notes (literally) along the way. I've been able to share conversation #1 fairly easily with my older girls (as well as other college age girls). However, I'm looking for more ideas on how have all the conversations across the ages. So, I saw the note in your book and came to your blog. Planning on attending the "You & Your Girl" conference in April. I've been greatly encouraged & equipped by "5 Conversations". Looking forward to the conference!
Blessings,
Tammy
Aloha,
My name is Michele. I am the mom of 3 daughters (ages 11, 9, 6) and 1 son (2). My oldest started puberty at 9. Thus my husband and I have been trying for the last two years to bring up those difficult conversations which my daughter cringes at every time.
Your book is a godsend. It has given us tools and support for the road ahead. We now use it as our weekly family time guide and include all the girls in the discussion. My oldest still writhes in pain as if we were administering Chinese torture. We remain determined to discuss the issues and prepare them for what is ahead.
My girls are the early developers you talk about in your book. We are in the thick of it and need all the help we can get. We appreciate you putting together a community like this where we can support one another during this battle for our daughters virtue. In a world where everything seems against us, I am thankful God is using your ministry to support the road ahead.
Mahalo from Hawaii,
Michele
ps. When are you going to do a conference in Hawaii?? We need it desperately out here.
Dear Vicki,
Thank you so much for writing this book, and keeping in constant communication through your blogs! At my request, my Mom purchased 5 Conversations for me and I am almost done reading it now.
I have 2 daughters… Kelsey will be 13 in a few weeks, and Kaylie is 17 and is currently trying to send me to a slow, drawn-out, boyfriend-drama death. I'm beside myself with grief as I sit at work again today, and I'm just so fed up. She loses all common sense when she goes out with this boy, it seems. Don't get me wrong, Kaylie is a good girl but last month she came home late from a date with him, then lied about why she was late. Last week, she was sick during the night and I let her stay home from school the next day. I ended up having to pick up my other daughter at noon at school that day because she didn't feel well either, and got home to discover Kaylie and her boyfriend eating lunch together, watching TV in the living room. Our house rule is no boys when there isn't a parent at home. So now today, she is at home pouting and angry because we forbid her from spending the day with him today. She cannot accept that this punishment is the consequence of her own actions. And I'm just scared to death that she's going to end up going too far with this boy. I don't know if it's because I'm currently reading your book, so nagging her about staying virtuous is at the forefront of my mind, but my fear now is that she's going to rebel and do the exact opposite of what I keep reminding her to do! What do I do???
Also, in your book you mention helping your daughter have a prepared speech so that when she is faced with the "let's crawl into the backseat" situation, she knows how to say no. Is there somewhere that you have examples of a "speech?" I have so much trouble knowing how to help her with this… where do we start?
Please, anyone reading this… prayers are greatly appreciated!

Vicki,
Thank you so much for this great book. 5 Conversations has been a wonderful eye opener for me. We have 2 boys (19 and 13) and one daughter, Mary Catherine who is 12. This is timely, well written and required reading for all parents. It is helping with the boys also, since one day they will be dating and need to know what type of girls to look for. We live in Charlotte, NC.

Hi Vicki,
My daughter, Jenny, is 8 yrs old and I bought the book last year and read it. I have started talking to her slowly about the issues but I have a long way to go. I know what I was like as a girl and the regrets I have and would truly like to lead her better in her decisions. I fear she may be starting puberty early. We live in Richmond, TX and would like to know when you will have your mother/daughter event in the Houston or surrounding areas.
God Bless,
Vicky L.
My daughter Emily is 7 we live in FL. I am getting ready to start a small group using this study…I can use all the prayers I can get. It will be the first time I have led a small group and I really wanted it to be one that I felt passionately about and what could I be MORE passionate about than my own daughter…so thank you!—Andrea
My name is Abby and I have two precious daughters, Marta 14 and Ezra 21 mos. I also have a son, Enoch, 4 yrs.
I have found your wonderful blogs at a time when I am down about not persevering in patience with my teenage daughter and about trying to solve some of her spiritual/emotional problems with logic – foolish and insensitve. Thank you for the encouragement that oozes out of your blog. You have already blessed me today and thank you for your heart to pray for us readers.
oops, forgot to say that we're Texans
Vickie,
This is my first blog…full time work outside of the home and 2 children doesn't leave much time for blogging!
I just read your book on 5 Conversations. I can't wait to discuss them and have 'teachable moments' with my daughter.
Please pray for me and my daughter, Amara (9 yrs) as she has Type 1 Diabetes as well. So much of our time chases after medical issues but I want to be intentional about her spiritual care and issues too.
God Bless you! Thank you for your honesty and your help.
Melissa in Kansas City area.
PS. please bring a mom-daughter session to the midwest SOON!

Hi, Vicki!
My mother, Mary Anne (72), my daughter Rebecca (11), and I (38) just got home from the "You and Your Girl" conference in Olive Branch – WOW! What a day!
I just thought I would leave you a quick comment and tell you how much we enjoyed the conference. I picked up your book and will be reading it daily, so that I can learn how to be a better Mom and teach my beautiful girl about life as a woman…
It has been tough these last few years trying to raise her along-side my mother (we all live in the same household, GULP) and the struggles we have been through have been tremendous, but I am sure that we can get through this together with God's help and your prayers…
Again, it was a pleasure being at the conference and I thank God for you and your willingness to share what you have learned (and lived through) with other Moms out here!
Blessings from Huntsville, AL

Hi, I have a Daughter who is 13 years old. We are so blessed to have such an amazing young lady, who has been touched by the Lord. She struggles with friendships, because little girls can be so ugly and love to lie and gossip. She is at a point where she feels like all her friends have turned their backs on her. She will not ever confront them, because they make her feel like she is always at fault, she can not understand why this happens to her. We tell her to stand up to them, but she will not. She will not say or do aything to hurt someone, regardless of how badly they have hurt her. Now she is at a point where she seconds guesses herself, and wonders what else she can do, because she trys her hardest to be a loyal loving friend, and some how that does not work in her favor. Need some advise!
I'm the mom to LeAnna (9) and a son (7). Just started the Bible Study and looking forward to it! Thank you!

Hi, My name is Jenny and I have a 16 year old daughter (shelby). A pastor I had never met before asked if I had a daughter and I said yes as a matter of fact I do, next thing I knew he handed me your book and said " then you have to read this book!" I am forever grateful!! what a blessing it has been and has already begun to change the way I have those important conversations with Shelby. I would love for you to lift us up in prayer, this is a big year….driving and she's allowed to date, so this book couldn't have come at a better time!! I lost my proverbs 31 mother this year to cancer ( and Shelby her Nana) so I feel a little lost that I can't pick up the phone and recieve wisdom. thank you for sharing this wisdom with us at a very critical time in our lives. God bless you and your family. p.s. what is the name of the song (roots and wings?) that plays along with the slide show….yes I had to get a tissue!!
Jenny – the name of the song is “Find Your Wings” by Mark Harris. Enjoy your 16 year old and I pray she's more excited about Jesus than about any boy

I love being a mom of all girls. I look forward to see what the Lord has for me and the other mothers as we go through this study. I am so excited to see what He has for each one of us. Hi. My name is Jen and my daughters are Grace (age 5) and Reese (age 18 mos.). I just finished reading your book. Thank you for your wisdom and insight!
Hi Vickie,
I just wanted to say that I am so thankful for your desire to help us moms out in a day and age when we really need it. I have three beautiful daughters, Giovanni age 16, Alyssa age 14 and Jessica age 12. It seems like the world is against you when you try to raise you girls to honor the Lord in the way they dress, talk and relate to others. Thank you for some practical advice on how to take the time over and over again to touch on these topics with our girls. I never had those conversations with my mom or any other adult when I was growing up and it was more difficult than I thought it would be to approach many of these subjects with my daughters. Thank you for reminding me how important it is to have these conversations, and providing the "how to" part. God bless, Lisa
I've been following VirtueAlert for a while and was thrilled to find my way over here tonight! Thank you for all that you do to support mothers like me who so desperately desire to raise daughters to follow Christ!
I'm SO excited to be taking my oldest to see you in Nashville!

Hi, my daughter and I went to your simulcast yesterday for You and UR Girl in Dripping Springs TX. We really enjoyed it! Can't wait to get some of your books. My daughter is 13.
Vickie – love (LOVE!) your video! It brought tears to my eyes and it inspired me to just REALLY enjoy each blessed day I have with these two fun loving BOYS of mine..ages 5 & 7. As I write this comment, I am exhausted after a long day of playing in the hot, summer weather. I will soon head to bed so I can recharge and be ready to embrace the daily adventures that tomorrow will bring.
I purchased your book a week ago and have not been able to put it down. I’ve been telling everyone about it!! Thank you so much for sharing your personal insights, as well as encouraging us as parents (especially Moms!) in this role of raising boys in an ungodly world. I am looking forward to the Bible study!! Enjoy this new season of your life! May God’s blessings continue to be poured upon you and your family!! Melissa W.
Hi Vicki,
I just got your book “5 conversations you must have with your son.” I am a single mom of 2 boys Anthony-9 and Ray-14 years old. I have only read the 1st conversation but it has changed some of my opinions and I need to really work on some things. Thank you for opening my eyes for my boys mean the world to me.

Some of the moms from my daughters school are doing the Bible study. We couldn’t afford to get the video but we are using the member book. We are having trouble coming up the right answers for the blanks on page 7. Could someone help us out please?
Loving your book. I have 2 daughters ages 14 and 11. My oldest just started high school and we are really srtruggling. She doesnt have a good group of friends that she identifies with. The group she is choosing are “weekday friends” as she has never asked them to spend the night. So, I dont know anything about them. All I know is that they seem to be a “rough group” and it worries me. My daughter is a great person, christian. But she tends to get “lost in the crowd” PLease pray that her circle of friends will change and that she feels the confidence and security to be able to branch out to bigger and better. Thanks
I will be praying for you and your daughter ………………. wishing you well – good luck and God Bless
AHHHH wait a relief. My mom recently bought “5 Conversations you must have with your daughter” such a wonderful gift from my mother and timing is everything…… this is this first time i have even been on a blog so please forgive me if I go about this the wrong way….. My daughter is 13 and it feels like our world is turned upside down. My once sweet sweet girl is now a teen, not so sweet not so kind and she has noticed boys and they have noticed her. unfortunately I’m a little behind because I never dreamed MY LITTLE GIRL would be this little girl…..she is now so dependent on her “boyfriend” that when we ground her or take her phone away she cries and I mean CRIES, I finally found out last right it is because she is worried that her boyfriend will break up with her because she is not allowed to spend time at the park or talk to him on the phone…it hurts me to know that I have allowed her to be in a situation where at 13 she is allowing a boy to control her actions/reactions. The good news is my daughter is very honest and tells me everything, the bad news is that it is not what a mother wants to hear and she has definitely put herself in compromising positions with a boy, it breaks my heart and I’m having a hard time to know what to do with this information……yes we have had all the talks you can think of, everything – I guess what I’m struggling with is my heart tells me that she should no longer be able to “hang out” at the park -you make bad decisions and you have consciences, but if I do this will she still tell me the truth about what is going on or will that push her away. I feel like know the right answers and I know that it is my job to be her mother and not her friend ……. is there a balance can you be both???? PLEASE HELP I want my little girl back!!!
I have 3 sons. Hunter – 14 Joshua – 11 and Taylor -4.
I am doing the sons Bible study right now. I have learned so much and I thank you for doing this bible study. So much to do and pray for our young men to grow into strong Godly men! Thank you!
Hello Vicki, my favorite Christian author! I am from Mandeville, LA and got a chance to meet you at a Your Girl conference in Covington, LA a few years ago. I have read most of your books and have loved them all. This past fall I welcomed 16 women into my home for a small group book study on 5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Daughter. It was wonderful and stirred up so many great discussions. I love pairing the video and workbook with the book – so much great information. I am now facilitating a group of 10 ladies for 5 Conversations You Must Have with Your Son. We are discussing Conversation 1 this week and I can’t wait. On another note, I have been using Safe Eyes and E Blaster software for over a year now per your recommendation. My son is in high school and just received an i phone for Christmas. I was disappointed to learn that E Blaster is not available on the i phone. Is there a tracking software you recommend for the i phone?
Hi Angelle! Thanks for your very kind words and for leading the study! As for software for the iphone, I’m not aware of one, but things seem to change daily. You might try googling “iphone monitoring software” and see what comes up. Hope that helps! ~vc
Hi Vicki,
I have been following your website since I heard you speak in Naples almost two years ago. I am currently reading the 5 Conversations for daughters and LOVE it!. It is the same as when you spoke- I just agreed with everything you shared. I appreciate your willingness to pray for us! My kids are a daughter age 9, and three sons- ages 7, 5 and 2. I am grateful for your site and your books. God Bless,
Amy
I have read your book and taken my daughter to your You and Your Girl event. What you teach is so needed
and I appreciate all of your efforts. I would like to ask if you would consider writing a bible study to 5 Conversations books. It would be so helpful to have a workbook to go along with a mother/daughter talk. It would make it come to life for both of us and give me the tools needed to relay the information in a godly but tangible way. Think about it!! I’ve been meaning to ask you this for some time and have even considered writing it myself but I know you would do a much better job compiling it.
god bless,
Christy

I have almost totally consumed this book in two sittings!! I truly believe this book was written as much for me as it was for my daughter. Luckily my Veronica (3 yrs) is still in the age of Disney Princesses and the only other man in her life besides my husband (her father) is Mickey Mouse. My eyes have been opened to the fact that my precious baby will grow up, but I take solace in knowing God has now equipped me with some of the armor I will need in the coming onslaught that is puberty. Thanks for writing Conversations. I don’t have a son (yet, if God willing.), but I have already considered ordering 5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Son.
Many blessings to you and yours,
Adrienne, TX
